It’s beginning to feel a lot like fall and as the winter begins to chill — now is the time to get out and enjoy the season. So to get into the full fall spirit, here are just a few autumn activities that are senior approved!
Decorate The Home
Fall is the perfect time of year to add some color to your home! One activity that will help your loved one stay active and work their mind is to decorate the house. Whether you go the spooky Halloween route, or just add a little fall flair or centerpiece — working on some decorations is a great creative way to bond with your family and senior.
Bake Something Festive
Now is the time to get the baking sheets out and ready to go. Make some cookies, an apple or anything with pumpkin — it will be a treat your whole family can enjoy. If you are feeling for a nice walk, why not even go apple picking before too.
Go For a Walk to See The Beautiful Trees
The colors are changing, and the weather is crisp — so now is the best time to take a stroll. Try to make time each week to notice the changes in color before the leaves begin to fall. Save some if you want and press them later if you’d like. Either way now is the time of year to get some fresh air and low impact cardio in.
Decorate Some Pumpkins
It’s not too late to decorate and display some pumpkins and if carving seems like too large of a task — why not paint them? No matter your age, decorating a pumpkin can be fun and stress relieving. Plus it’s a great way to show off some of your favorite interests too.
