Think of your body as a well-oiled machine — every part has its function and if one fails the others will suffer too; your system will often turn on some lights or symptoms, so you know, but usually they can easily get ignored. So if you are noticing a new set of symptoms lately, here’s the subtle ones to keep an eye on.
Suddenly Losing Weight
If you notice yourself suddenly shedding pounds without the effort, don’t ignore it. A few pounds can happen, but if it’s over five pounds within a few months — you’ll want to see your doctor. The older you get, the more this could be a sign of a serious issue so don’t let it go ignored.
Stomach ailments can be from a wide variety of issues and often can go away on its own. If you notice a stomach ache that lingers and also includes vomiting, pain or other symptoms, you’ll want to get it looked at to make sure it’s not leading to something significant.
If you are suddenly spending most of your days with a headache than without — you might want to try and find the source. Headaches can be caused by bad posture, sinuses, lack of sleep and other causes but if an intense headache that lingers along with other symptoms, it could be a sign of something more such as neurological damage.
Fevers are the first sign that your body is at work. If you are running sudden fevers — chances are your body is in the process of fighting off illness. If your fever is on the higher side and lasts a few days, you’ll need to make a trip to the doctor’s office.
Sudden Increase in Thirst
A constant need for water can often be associated with dehydration and just requires a higher water intake. If you are currently taking medications, this could be a side effect of it. If you have swelling and weight gain along with the thirst, and no amount of water will do — it could be a sign of kidney issues so be sure to tell your doctor.
