How to Show Your Caregiver You Care

November 7th, 2017 The Loved Ones Desk Uncategorized

Being a caregiver is a rewarding and never-ending job. It’s one that requires a bond and a level of trust. If you are thankful for your caregiver but can’t find a way to show it, we have some simple ideas to show them and chances are you might already be doing them!

Spend Quality Time Together

You spend a lot of time with your caregiver, but how much of it is quality time? You could find a common interest you both could enjoy together such as board games or puzzles. Why not ask to step out and go to lunch? No matter what you decide to do, the gesture alone shows that you care.

Get them a Gift

Some of the best gifts are the ones that are handmade from the heart! If being crafty isn’t your thing,  you can write a card or just have their favorite meal or beverage ready next time they come.  It’s the little gestures they’ll remember so just a simple thank you note, or a card can brighten up their day.

Try a New Hobby

Whether it’s baking, gardening or pure nature walk why not start a new activity together? If you know their interest try doing something they enjoy to do or maybe show them one of your favorite ones. A change of pace is good for the both of you and can even help you get your daily cardio in!

Just Tell Them

A simple thank you or smile is all they need to know you appreciate them! Caregivers are not expecting anything from you, and only a simple acknowledgment is all you need to make their day. They are doing what they do because they love it, so don’t ever doubt that they know you are thankful.
