Tips For Better Bone Health

November 1st, 2017 The Loved Ones Desk Uncategorized

Mobility is a major key to a vital and happy life and to be mobile you’ll need healthy bones. As we age, our bones density can decrease and so could our bone health. So here are a few tips on how to keep your bones in tip-top shape.

Keep Your Calcium in Check

Calcium is the number one known way to keep your bones healthy and strong. Be sure to get your daily intake of calcium in each day and if you’re not sure where you are at, speak with your doctor. A supplement might be needed if your family history has any signs of osteoporosis.

Cut Back on Tobacco and Alcohol

Smoking and excessive drinking can wreak havoc on your health, and that includes your bone health. Cigarette smoke could lead to weaker bones, and alcohol abuse can interfere with your calcium absorption too. So to make sure you have healthy bones for the future cut down to no more than two drinks a night and avoid cigarettes.

Keep Active

Strong Bones are healthy ones so to keep your bones in their best possible strength — keep them moving! Regular exercise is something that will increase your bone density and fight against brittle bones. The more immobile you are, the more likely you are to have bones issues in the future.

Family History

Knowing what runs in your family is a beautiful way to prevent any future issues. If anyone in your family has suffered from Osteoporosis, you’ll want to take preventive measures now. Keep your calcium high and stay active to fight your chances of history repeating itself.
