Our Story/Meet the Team

Over 20 years ago, Loved Ones was born out of a promise from our founder to her mother. The promise was that Donna would never put her mother in a long-term care home or an assisted living facility, and instead let her receive care at home. Donna Skeen was raising two children at the time, and helping her husband get a successful law firm off the ground, but she kept her promise to her mother.

With a background in rehabilitation services and psychology, Donna launched Loved Ones In-Home Personal Care and Nursing Services to provide the same quality in-home care that her mother received to as many people possible. Given that providing in-home care to individuals and families who don’t want to rely on often impersonal assisted care, Loved Ones grew quickly to over 200 clients in the span of six months. Many of those clients were friends and families within Donna’s community.

When Donna’s own mother passed away at the age of 94, she was accompanied by family and Loved Ones personal care aides at her side. And that’s at the heart of our company – giving our clients the ability to spend their time with family and friends in the comforts of their own home and providing a much-needed peace of mind for families. We believe that’s the best gift you can give your loved ones, and we work hard to provide that experience for each and every one of our patients.
